Andy Bogard

From Academic Kids

Andy Bogard (アンディ・ボガード) is a video game character in the Fatal Fury series of fighting games by SNK Playmore. In Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special and King of Fighters 94, Andy Bogard was voiced by Jun Hashimoto (who also did Kain R. Heinlein of Garou: Mark of the Wolves). From Fatal Fury 3 and onward, Andy Bogard is voiced by Keiichi Nanba.

Andy is the adopted brother of the main character and SNK Playmore's mascot, Terry Bogard.

According to his official biography, Andy was born on August 16, 1974. He stands 1.71 m (5 ft 6 in) and weighs 69 kg (152 lb). His blood type is A. His hobby is practicing martial arts, his favourite food is spaghetti a la natto (fermented soybean), his favourite sport is short track, and his treasured possession is a picture of himself with Hanzo Shiranui. He hates dogs.

Andy practices the Shiranui School of Ninjitsu and a form of empty-handed Ninja Combat called Koppouken, which he trained in after witnessing his father's murder in order to gain revenge on Geese Howard. Mai Shiranui is his fiancee (in her mind), and the granddaughter of Hanzo Shiranui, the man he learned Ninjitsu from. Andy feels she is like a little sister, and tries to suppress any romantic notions he might have for her.

During his time in Japan, he met the Muay Thai fighter Joe Higashi, and challenged him to a match. When Andy won, he invited Joe to return to America with him to enter the King of Fighters tournament, held by Geese Howard.

Andy's emotions prevented him from reaching the final round, but when Terry defeated Geese, Andy returned to Japan to continue his training. When the new King of Fighters tournament was announced, Andy joined Terry and Joe in the new 3-on-3 matches.

Moments before Geese's permanent death, Andy tried to off Geese by himself. Geese's power proved to be too much for Andy as Andy almost fell to his death. Terry saved Andy and finally acknowledged him (Terry) as the better of the two brothers.

Ever since Geese's death, the fall of the First Southtown, and the birth of Second Southtown, Andy has been busy training Hokutomaru through the ways of the Shiranui School of Ninjutsu and a form of empty-handed ninja combat called Koppouken.

Andy is also the master of Hokutomaru, the young ninja-in-training in Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
